In-House Pickling Bath

ICS have invested in a high technology pickling bath which will be available for use towards the end of quarter one 2010. ICS is currently working with customers scheduling use of the bath for 2010. Please contact ICS to schedule jobs for 2010.

The premises will be licensed to manage dangerous goods, and as a result the pickling bath will utilise the appropriate strength hydrofluoric/nitric acid suitable for most commercial grades of stainless including duplex and super duplex. Other lesser acid mixes that do not require dangerous goods licenses may not properly pickle/descale stainless steel particularly the harder grades.

Features of the bath include:

• Mixer for circulation of the pickling bath
• Temperature sensor
• Electrical heater
• Electrical control panel and control units
• Bath cover/lid (manual handling)
• Spray system to reduce fumes.
• Environmental friendly in terms of exploiting the acid to a maximum.
• Fumes exhaust system.
• Chemical filtration and recycling system

Quality Control

As the bath temperature can be recorded, the ph levels measured and acids circulated evenly, ICS can guarantee that each piece of stainless will be treated in accordance with its requirements and that irrespective of ambient temperatures that the first piece of a job can be treated in the same way as the last piece of the job. Our systems will also allow for item number recording for future maintenance program records.

Safety

ICS is committed to making sure its people and customers are safe. The equipment has systems to manage fumes and waste, the appropriate PPE equipment is utilised and bunded areas to manage the chemicals. ICS has the appropriate Dangerous Goods licenses and all other relevant approvals to operate these systems.
